Substrate nutrient loss is new to me, almost 1 year in but I'll never change to a different substrate.
Plants perform too well to warrant a change using capped soil.
I'm only guessing but assuming @ least 18 months on soil longevity.

2 tanks with phish that maintain 20ppm NO3 & 2ppm of PO4 with no phish or shrimp issues.
Macro dosing to maintain levels and micros are low(1x week) due to soil being used.
Some weeks are requiring a 2x EI macro dosing though.

The phishless tank is another story, same macro arrangement as needed.
Urea and micros daily now for 1 month, WTH it is a test that is doing well.
