i would get neither of these kits. they will limit you like the narrow opening on the top of fluval edge. since you're in SF, go to the store on 6th ave or j town and pick up a all glass tank for $30-$100. a hang on back filter for $20. a led light for $30-80. some dirt,rocks,wood and plants and you're good to go. CO2 will be your next step into the game
