Just Starting

I am new to planted tanks but have some experience with fresh water tanks. I am wondering how many plants and what type would be best for a 10 gal. w/ aquasoil, sponge filter and basic led lighting. I would like a good variety and a plant or 2 that would break the water surface and continue to grow up. I would like to eventually move my betta fish in there when it is established. Any help or advice would be welcomed.

Crypts, Swords, Vals, Java ferns, Anubias, Dwarf Sag and Dwarf lilly to name a few easy to grow plants. These are also low to medium light plants. Don't have any Idea on ones that will grow straight out of the water, and those might be High light plants.
