I had a favorite years ago called The Fish Store in North Seattle, but that's a trek so I don't go there anymore. How about where you are? I saw someone else from Fed Wy I am going to try to touch base with. |

My selection here is awful,to put it mildly.I usually buy my fish at a store in Sumner,(but I forget the name).I have never seen aquatic soil in any of the pet stores that I have visited around here.Plant selection is dismal, and it is a hit and miss for fertilizers.I have never seen even PC bulbs or decent fixtures.I only have seen Eheim filters in one Petco, but they only carried the ECCO,s,and the price was like double what you find online. All of my equipment I am forced to get online.
I hope that things are better for you!! |

Hello from Bellingham. Just got into this hobby about 4 months ago. Had previous aquariums but none planted with any success but then not much effort put into research and planning. Am retired now and am having reasonable success with the help of this forum and others like it. There's a lot of info to digest. There's one good LFS here in Bellingham. Clarks Feed and Seed. No more feed and seed, just stuff related to the aquatic world.

Hi Everyone,
Roy here in Renton (Fairwood). I'm glad to see so many Washingtonians on this forum! The Greater Seattle Aquarium Society (GSAS) is re-starting its Horticultural Awards Program (HAP), and we sure could use more plant people at the meetings. The next meeting will be in September (2nd Tuesday of the month) with the start of our 2008 - 2009 schedule (we take the summer months off!). Please attend if you would like to meet others with fish/plants/aquascaping interests (fish nuts) like you! http://www.gsas.org/

Anyone here want to sell any small (nano) sized plants in small quantities? I look in the swap and shop and I just don't have room for anything in the quantities there.
Looking for willow moss, japan moss (seems hard to find) and windelov java fern. My tank is too new to trade much of anything, except salvinia. I was able to find a few aquatic plants at the Indoor Sun, including HC and a nice red Echinodous, but they were pretty...algae ridden. Anyone? |

Hey I am in Puyallup, and I am looking for some good LFS in the area. I am wanting to to a planted tank with tetras and Dwarf Cichlids. Can someone give me some good insight to LFS and stuff down here. I knew Seattle/Bellevue better when I had my reef tank.
