Mudskippers!

Im pretty excited! Im going to try my hand at mudskippers. You can make really interesting vivariums for them using mangrove trees that will grow well just by sticking them in the sand of your vivarium. Now all I have to do is find the Skippers and the plant.

lol, i saw some in our LFS yesterday for the first time... quite large little critters... very cute though

How large where they and do you remember what species of skipper they were selling? does the store have a website?

I see them now and then at the LFS. You do realize that they require brackish water right? I'm not sure of the specific gravity, but they're not a true freshwater fish. Just making sure,

I don't know them personally and have not dealt with them, but a friend said they were good.

We kept mudskippers when I was working at the Vancouver Aquarium. The are IMO one of the coolest fish to feed. We would place mysis shrimp on a rock and watch the mudskippers race for it.

We kept them in a tank that was half water, half sandy plateu. Most of the frolicking occured on the plateu.

Very cool fish.

the onlt thing I have read about them is you need a BIG tank as they love to jump, and can jump 3 feet!

Are there any smaller mudskippers? Like ones that reach 3inches at adult size?

On various pieces of furniture, 6 cats!
