Yeah, i want something which is cheapish, has external flash connector, something a bit higher than f-8 on tap, and decent optical magnification... paid about $100 for my epson photopc800 a few years ago... got nice mix between full auto, programed and full manual settings...

If I am going to get burned in the techno war, I only want to loose $200.00 not $2,000.00 on this stuff. Nikon is professional and also better then all of the above, no argument there.

I wasn't trying to say that CCD was short for, "Digital Light Capturing Circuits". I was telling every-one who doesn't know what a CCD is, what a CCD's function in the camera was. To capture the image (Light).

The jitter can com from your finger as you continue to press the button down, while the camera has already started taking the photo, or while you are releasing your finger and the camera starts taking the photo. My Kodak digital camera has manual settings.

lol did i say USD100 i meant 1000, but with the rand being so much stronger I probably dont want to spend more than 800, i realy like that camera of yours, nice I see it has apperture priority and stops down to F13, which will be nice for macro... only down side is the 20cm distance limit on macro, see it also has 3x optical zoom... anything newer in this class out yet?

quite prone to something similar to Canon PowerShot Pro 90IS

Yes, there are additional zoom, and wide angle lenses for this camera which extend its limitations. The new cameras are much better.

The DC-4800 can be purchased now for $300.00 - $250.00. @

The 6490 is certainly nice but the reason I don't want it is the small f-stop range, and lack of hotshoe for extra/external flash.

Can't fault it on anything else... I think they limit the cameras on purpose like that so you need to keep comming back for more...

If you can spend about $600, look at the Canon G5 or Nikon 5700. If you have $400 more, the digital rebel/EOS 300D might satisfy your need of all kinds of f-stops. Keep in mind that digital cameras have a much higher depth of field than a regular 35mm at the same f-stop. I took some photos with F8 (digital) that would have been completely impossible even with F22 (35mm camera).
Not sure how much they are over there though...

My kodak DC-4800 has an external flash hook-up. I didn't check the stats for the new one... Flashes are real good on all cameras now, why do you need external flashes? Mine even fires multiple times, for ambient light reflection and red-eye reduction!

I havn't tried the external flash port on my camera yet. It seems to take great photos no matter what the light conditions are. Smack that with some skilled photo editing and you never have a bad photo. I still use Paint Shop Pro 5, because it is one of the fastest art programs out there. and it does what I want.
