20 [or so] gallon Paludarium

I've been hit with the paludarium bug. I really think the only reason I've been obsessing over my tanks so much recently is because I have no REAL work to be doing for school.

Anyway, my design plans are going to be nearly identical to the ones found HERE, except that my land area will probably be a bit more rounded (maybe oval or half-circle shaped because I'm not too handy with the actual plexi-glass bendign sort of thing, plus it will limit amount needed).

A science teacher at school is helping me get ahold of a free 20gallon, which makes me pretty happy, and should be just enough room to experiment with.

Questions come with plants mostly (funny.. in the planted forum...). If I was to get this up and running, would anyone have any suggestions on smaller plants that arent going to push through the top of the tank? I might be able to convince the parents into letting me get a small frog or two -again, suggestions? In the water portion I will have a betta, havent decided on other fish (havent decided on amount of water yet).

The 29 gal that my loaches and betta are in now will be used to breed sailfin mollies (saw some at store.. never realized mollies could be so beautiful), and might very well just use the fry for food for animals in other tanks.

I think the best way to go about this is to get the intioal tank set up, in order to keep your plants below the lid without doing alot of trimming, you need to know how high your land mass is going to be, and that depends on the amount of water you want in the tank.

Also are you going to be using most of the same kind of equipment in the tank? The filter, underwater heater and stuff? Or will you be getting some old stuff from that 20 gallon tank?

I'll be using most of the same equipment, perhaps with filter alterations. Wont have incredibly much land since I've sort of changed my fish plan, but I'm not all too set on anything yet.
