Just to let you know my Discus are ready to sell. My plan is to sell them by next weekend. If you want some ill let you pick out the best ones and you can have them for $20 each. If your not ready right now for Discus I should have some 2" ready for sale in about a month or 2.

Blake,
I am not going to be ready untill the tank is stable and that will be quite some time. I still have to add my automatic CO2 my new lights and some plants. All and all it may be a few months before the tank is ready for anything but the hardy fish in there now! But when it is ready...

Okay, so the low-tech, low-cost idea went right out the window. I already bought the 80lbs of eco complete and a Ehiem 2224. Here is the list of what I have just ordered:

Ordered from aquatic-store.com
- JBJ Combo 4 co2 regulator
- Bubble counter
- Sms122
- Reactor 1000 + Bubble counter fluid 60 ml
- All 3 bottles of 4, 7, and 10 ph solutions for sms 122 controller
- CO2-Proof Tubing by the 12 FT
- 5 lb Co2 Bottle

Ordered from Dr. Foster and Smiths
- Coralife Freshwater Aqualight Double (48")
- Includes four 21" 65 watt 6700°K
- 4 supporting legs for Coralife fixture
- 2 electronic timers (the Coralife light has 2 separate switches to turn 130w on and off independently)
- Galaxy 13w Compact Fluorescent (for my red cherry 2.5gallon grow out tank)

Well, the tank that was free, so far has cost me over $800.00!

Okay, so here is the initial planting of the tank. I am still waiting on the Co2 tank to show up, then I might be looking for some star grass and maybe some smaller swords!

For future reference, there is a place called Florida Carbonic just south of downtown where you can get the CO2 tank refilled. I purchased a 10 lb aluminum tank from them filled for $110, if memory serves.

Not sure what you call a small sword, but I have some fairly nice E. Ozelot babies growing in my tank right now. I also have an abundance of dwarf Sag and some L. Repens to give-away/trade.

We need to get that Orlando plant club going!!

Brian.

GlassGardens should be able to help you out there.

Well I got the Co2 tank and it is running well. Working on bringing down the Ph very slowly.

By small swords I mean swords that are less than 18" tall max. I am thinking that this tank is going to be mostly swords and crypts. Any sugestions!

My 46g is 20" tall. I have about 2-3" of Flourite substrate and the current momma E. ozelot is a couple inches below the water line. So, I'd guess it's in the 15"-16" range. I think it's a nice looking sword. So, it's worth a shot!

Well just a QUICK up date:

The pygmy chain swords are growing fast and sending out runners VERY fast!
The amazons are growing very slow if at all.
The mellon sword is slow.
The crypts are growing VERY fast (that is fast for a crypt)

Anyway, I will give an update soon!

I will try to have them up soon... I am battling some algae, as can be expected, but it is not too bad. I am also trying out micro swords, but they dont seem to be doing to great!
