Looking good! Just 1 thing. I would move the vals, for they are in the center. I think they would look good left of the Rotala. Also I liked how the wood on the left was position standing up. It drew the eye towards the left.

Very cool, nicely done with the path!

As far as ghost shrimp....i've heard they are notoriously tricky to breed in captivity because they can carry eggs in freshwater but the babies need to be raised in brackish (maybe even salt?) water.....at least i think that's ghost shrimp? .....

Either way, berried shrimp means happy water conditions!

ok, so i decided to just take out that piece of driftwood (mopani?) on the left- it was too block shaped for me, and i finally added in these pieces i got from leaf- they have been soaking for about a week and finally decided to sink i have java moss coming in the mail this weekend which will go on it. i dont think i like this glosso.. it floats to the top everytime i move something around :/ i was considering a riccia carpet because i love the look of this lonely riccia stone..

Tank is looking great! I like the new wood a lot! I also like the riccia stone...i don't think it looks lonely though, I think it looks like a cool bush or something, maybe a few more of those would look cool with the gravel interspersed instead of a carpet? Just a thought since that one looks so cool!

Hmm Getting better. Now just feel you need a tall plant on the right that is the height of the tall branch. Perhaps Wisteria.

nice job so far JennaH. the new driftwood looks nice and i like your riccia stone, too. i like Karackle's idea of adding a few more riccia stones. but it might look nice if you make a riccia carpet and use riccia covered stones to help hold down your netting. once all of the riccia filled in it might have a nice natural look to it (like the lush, green rolling hills of ireland of something) Hilde's right about adding a taller background plant on the right. if you want i could send you some stems (10-15) of sunset hygrophila as a RAOK the next time i trim. i'll have to trim again by sunday and could ship monday. check the plant profiles on this forum and see if it would be something you would like to try: http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/my...osanervig.html
super easy plant to grow and it's a fast grower as well. PM me if your interested. and when did you add the rummy nose tetras? rummies are my favorite! the best schooling fish around, IMO. + if there noses loose color it means something is off with your water parameters, so +1 for rummies as an indicator as well.

When I break my tank down I am getting rid of the Hygro sunset. Will then giving it away for shipping cost. Just don't know when I will be doing this. Seems the sunset gotten eat by some fish.

thx hydrophyte and karackle
hilde: i have a few stems(about 5) of ludwigia brevipes that are hard to see behind the driftwood on the right. they are are only about 3-5" tall right now. in this picture they kind of look like some runaway java moss haha
bherren1: that would be great! you think it will look good with the ludwigia brevipes? i got the rummies on saturday. i agree they are great and they seem pretty happy so far and all the tetras have been schoolin together, which is nice

+1 for the sunset hygro, it's a GREAT plant, adds some really nice color and it's so easy to maintain!

Default noobalicious 10 g- update 11-6

sooo.. time for an update the java moss has really filled in alot. i tied some onto the other driftwood, so it looks pretty bare still. im attempting a mini moss carpet area on the left side, we'll see how that goes. the ludwigia brevipes is growing at a nice rate, especially since i planted them as itty bitty stems i split from 2 larger ones. i've trimmed the rotala indica a couple times now, im not sure why but it has begun to lean.. still haven't figured that out.
i got a great plant package from brandon that arrived today! included sunset hygro, rotala macrandra, limnophila aromatica, and lindernia rotundofolia 'variegated'. thanks again brandon!
lindernia rotundifolia 'variegated'

limnophila aromatica

sunset hygro (w/ val)

ludwigia brevipes

FTS

i really need a background- it looks so crappy w/ my kitchen background haha

any suggestions of which plants to group together- or where to move any is greatly appreciated..

i hope the sunset hygro colors up better for you than it did for me. kind of funny, the new growth since i trimmed it to ship to you is starting to color, see:

....maybe it just takes a little while to get established....

Good luck and it looks great!

I find dosing with KNO3 brings the pink out in my Hygor Sunset.
