I would do away with the regular pleco . It will eat your plants.

My brother's been telling me the same thing (http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/pl...journal-2.html). Eventually I will have to get rid of that pleco, but for now he's not causing any problems. The Corys are much more devastating to the newly planted HC. I'm replanting uprooted HC every morning because of them.

Yeah corys can be a pain in the but. When I first got my glosso the corys keep uprooting it as well till it finally took strong enough hold.

I've been hand feeding the tetras, and I make sure that no food falls in the HC, but the Corys like to dig it up anyway. Oh well. I'm sure it'll be firmly rooted in the next week. Until then I'll keep the tweezers handy.

Thanks to everyone who has helped me out so far.

Thanks Tex Gal.

Unfortunately, one of the neon tetras died today.

I bought some "Green Hedge" (Alternanthera ficoidea.) It was the only midground plant I could find locally. Pics soon.

Sorry to say, but green hedge is not an aquatic plant. Curse pet store chains for selling non- aquatic as aquatic plants.

Tricked again. I guess I'll get that stuff out my tank and hit the swap and shop forum.

If the HC does not root, you might want to consider removing the corys. I had the problem of corys digging up my HC too and I ended up removing them, it made a diffrence and the HC stayed rooted.

This tank would look sweet with some yellow shrimp.

I added 16 adult/large juvenile yellow shrimp. This may become a yellow shrimp breeding tank, I'm not sure yet. The HC is also coming in nicely.

Here are some more pics. It looks better when I take them in a darker room.

Any good midground recommendations for the area behind the rocks? I need something that can fit in front of the moneywort.

Also I don't think I'm happy with the Swords, I think i need to get rid of 2/3 of them. Any ideas would be cool.

I decided to make this into a shrimp only breeding tank. The only inhabitants are now 16 yellow shrimp. When I see that the shrimp are thriving I'll have the courage to invest in some CRS.

Pics soon.
