icepotato's 20g iwagumi
saw a tank the other day by the side of the road so i was like "hey, why not make an iwagumi tank?"(don't worry, i tested for leaks).
i used fine gravel since i cant get ada aqua soil, eco complete or sechem flourite from any of the stores that i know of in melbourne. i put some hairgrass from my murray cod grow-out tank and as for the rocks, i liberated them from someones garden and cleaned em up. lighting is X2 24W t5HO 10k. im trying a dry start, heard good things about it. since im not using aqua soil or anything should i put anything in to get the HG nutrience? i really like your hardscape... the color and shape of the rocks are awesome and your layout is very nice

I like the texture and color of the rocks, they make a good contrast with the sand. However, if you can obtain some larger versions of the rocks, that would be good. I feel like the rocks that are in there now will be overpowered by plant growth and lose their effect as things grow in.

or alternatively, don't have any foreground plants, just leave the sand as is... bare, on the edge of the stones, do either dward nana as boundary between rock and sand and then do lots of background plants behind the rock with some color contrast, i think that would look really neat and different than your common iwagumi approach

filled the tank (impatient), still a little cloudy. dont mind the filter intake tube and spraybar lilly pipes are coming in the mail. i took out some of the hairgrass that were blocking the rocks and planted glosso instead. now the hairgrass is only inbetween and behind the rocks. CO2 goes in tomoro.
