Illusions - Demonbreedr's 10gal Aquarium - Setup 11/11/09

Well, I WAS going to buy some new Albino/Regular Glowlight Tetras from the petstore in addition to either Cardinals or Neons, but somehow, I don't feel welcome there anymore so I just bought some gravel from Walmart, moved out the fish I wanted moved, added the gravel, and re-planted the plants from the move it's old stand to the 29gal's table.

If nothing else the tank looks great with the new plants and I've got some green hygro coming in soon from fastfreddie.

Oh, I forgot, I'm tempted to buy some more Microsword and Chain Sword the next time I got to Petco. What do you think? I think it's doing good, but it needs more to give it the boost I REALLY want.

Oh yeah, the pristellas are spawning again this morning. I like the gold pristellas alot so if I ever get more, that's what I'm going with.

I put in some Red Root Floater & E. Nuttalli in from the outside 10gal I tore down...I'm keeping the RRF in here, but the E. is going in one of my betta tanks since it does best nder incandescent lighting...

I also added 1 stem of Sunset Hygro to possibly contrast against the green hygro I'm reciving. I'm also making this a mainly Cryptocoryne Tank! I L-O-V-E those plants soooo much!

So, my crypt list for now will be:

This tank is soooo jumbled right now, I'm kinda sick of it! LOL It was tore down and cleaned while everything went in either the 29[plants] or 55gal[fish]. The MicroSword is all gone. I forgot about it on accident while moving everything over and by the time I was ready to plant it, it was mushy and black within a day of being into the 29gal.

Anyways, 4-ish Endler or Pristella fry are inhabiting this tank along with 1 bronze cory Juvie, 1 Gold Mystery Snail, & MILLIONS of Malaysain Trumpet Snails/maybe 5 Pond Snails.

Gravel is just a jumbled mess of blue/black/brown/sand

plants are Jungle Val, Crypt. Pontederiifolia, Crypt 'Unknown', Green Hygro, Giant Hygro, Red Temple Plant, Java Moss, Some...fern[non-aquatic? It's doing well so far!], Floating Fern, Duckweed, Rotala Indica, 2x Ozealot Swords, 2x Amazon Swords, 2x Melon Swords, 1x Marble Queen Radican Sword, 1x Red Rubin Sword, 1x Ruby Red Melon Sword, & Hygro Corymbosa 'Stricta'

Once all these plants eventually go into the 55gal when I rebuild it [my mom is wanting a little tank over it, so soon, a 20gL will be hers and the 55 mine!].

Overall plans for this tank are dwarf shrimp! I'm HEAVILY debating between Blue Pearl Shrimp, Yellow Shrimp, Red Cherry Shrimp and/or Crystal Red Shrimp/Crystal Black Shrimp.

Ok...so, since I'm not caring about Shrimp Cross Breeding, I'm thinking my stocking Levels will be:

7x Tiger Endlers
2x Red Cherry Shrimp
2x Yellow Shrimp
2x Pearl Blue Shrimp
2x Crystal Black Shrimp
2x Black Tiger Shrimp [Wow!! These guys is expensive! ]

Tank is going to be a FOREST of mainly Anubias...then having a few other plants on the side, but I can assure you. The plants in here, AREN'T staying...I just have 2x 55's & a 20gL to plant!

As for the fish, I'm deeply thinking about adding in #1: CPDs[7] & #2: Either Betta Albimarginata or a pretty Betta Splendens 'Crowntail'. I'm a bit confused, but I'm going to try to order the Endlers for my birthday.

Once your tank grows in it should look very nice!
I'm thinking of getting some crypts instead of water spryte and ludwigia.... But not sure yet

Everything that was in this tank from the last px went in my 29gal and this tank took on a life of it's own with me forgetting it even existed!I mindless-ly feed and turn on lights] LOL Suddenly a FM endler vanished and 8 little fry were swimming around...oh and that cory juvie who just grows and grows!

Oh, you could always send your water sprite my way, I love that plant and have had the HARDEST time tracking some down! I'll pay shipping and whatever you want for it...that is, if you want to part with it???

BTW: Crypts are one of my favorite plants! Several just keep popping up in my 29 [which contains the crypts from this tank]

But you have 8 fish now insted That would be an ok trade of for me. It's like my male shrimp went missing a day after I noticed a female shrimp is barried, so now I got like 20 or maybe even more little shrimp babies

Were were you like 2 weeks ago I threw out a nice chunk of it because it was taking over. And I'm not sure I want to tottaly part with it I'm thinking of moving it into my 14g, but I tell you what I will not trim it for a while and will send you shoot or two, one that will be ready to plant It hasn't been growing well for me latley for some reason but I am starting to dose more and will be getting some root tabs so hopefully it will take off again. I like crypts too and starting to like them more and more. I actually have a Crypt. Wendtii if you look really close you can see it behind a moss rock in the jungle of dwarf sag that keeps taking over it. It's not growing very big for me but I think it's all due to not enough fertilizers and the fact that dwarf sag is taking over.... And there is a little shoot in front of the wood too

That sounds great, I'll try risking shipping some plants to you as kinda a trade...It won't be anything spectacular...probably a C. Pontederiifolia, some of that unknown crypt, & maybe some Rotala/green Hygro....that'll give you some new plants for your tanks and you can always grow them out and sell pieces of them later on.

Thanks! If you have extra, I would like some dwarf sag! I wonder if my 29 could have it carpeting the bottom? It's 40W of T8 light...so I'm curious.

The plants I want to send are ALL grown, I just need to figure out how to ship them...They'll be freebies...I'll even pay for the shipping...

I think it would carpet, mine constantly sending side shoots, it's taking over the left side of my tank and I like it I been cuting the side shoots off but I will let the grow a bit so I can send you some with Waterspryte...

Thank you! I've received some plants as total freebies from others, so my dream was to one day do the same and give plants away to other plant keepers! I'll see when I can get the plants out then you can just ship me the others when you are ready. I need your address though, so PM me when you get a chance.
