Great start, dragonfly. Did you take the plant out of the pot? I forgot to do this with my first plants and had trouble with them. Welcome to the "inept depth" club! (as coined by Rekles for 55 gallon tanks)

What kind of splitter are you using for the co2? I like that, I want one for my ten gallon tanks.

It's an air spliter made by penn plex. Iv'e had them for years not even sure if they still make them any more.
I just cut the hanger off and screwed it to the back of the stand.

UPDATE got some more plants and the wife picked out some fish.

I still need to find the plants I'm looking for. It looks really bare.

3/24/09 I add some more plants 2 more spoted corys and 2 scissortails.
haven't pulled the bamboo yet but I will. I'm going to try and slip it in the turtle tanks. everything Iv'e read states the leaves must be above the water
3/25/09 I hooked the eheim up to the tank to help clear it up.
waiting for my AC 70 to get here $40 shipped

the cloudyness is going away but oh so slow. If you haven't guessed I'm not a patient person so this is killing me.

I'm debting on a center piece

A-- nice rock
B-- driftwood with some moss on it or something
C-- something just plain odd

Iv'e never scaped a tank like this so I have no clue what I'm doing.

nothing much has changed. it's cleared up some. I have new growth on a couple of plants.
got some new plants on the way !!!

But I did get a new camera WOW I like this. as soon as I learn more about how to use it. LOL

^^^^^^^^^Those look like some non aquatic plants I got from petsmart a few years back when I got into this planted tank thing, I think they were labeled "water fern" or something like that.

I'm going to use the moss and try to make a tree. I don't know how well this will work but I'm going to try.

hey that moss tree in the making looks great! i think when the moss grows in well itll look really nice. just keep it thick and trimmed

i love that substrate btw, black sand always looks good to me. where did u get it?

Those WERE aquatic plants!! If they were growing for you, you are a great plant keepre because they are kinda hard to keep alive. They are an emersed version of Bolbitis heudelotii or Congo Fern! You didn't throw them away did you? They are kinda of rare...atleast for me!

Use slate or plexiglass as a base. They are both great to use. The slate won't need weighted down.

I'm far from a great plant keeper! they all died in the tank and looked real bad so I had to pull them.
