1st attempt at planted tank nano
An attempt at some simple aquascaping
2.5 gallon AGA 12W 6400k CFL circular Seachem flourite black Red Sea Nano filter Comments/critques/suggestions welcome. ![]() ![]() ![]() Some microswords. I split them up and planted them in the substrate. No idea if they will grow this way. Planting took forever using hands. ![]() ![]() Dont know what the plants on the left are called. ![]() Added some anacharis. ![]() ![]() Decided to take of top rim, so had to empty entire tank. What a pain. ![]() I like this more open look better. ![]() Filling up again. ![]() Got everything planted like before. ![]() Added a Red Sea Nano filter and some anubias nana. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Current tank setup. Got a guppy in there to help cycle it. Probably gonna add some java moss and a few more plants, and eventually a few CRS. Any suggestions on additional plants or changes to the tank? Thanks. |

Is this thing on?

Is that anacharis I see in the back left corner? Anacharis is a strange plant. I'm personally not a big fan, and never had much luck with it rooting. I'd consider replacing it down the road with something else. Maybe a nice redish plant (Rotala Rotondufolia?) I'm by no means an expert aquascaper though.
So far, you're off to an awesome start though. I really like the rocks. Like epcifish said though, I'd try burying them just a bit.

You're off to a good start. It's always fun messing around with small tanks (:
Have you thought about adding a little DIY CO2? Also, that micro sword might a take a bit before it decides to take off. I love the look of micro sword, I just wish it would grow faster! Maybe your should get some rotala r. It's nice and easy to take care of IME.

Suit up!

I'd agree with replacing the anachris, it grows like crazy, but it is a floating plant, so the chances of it rooting are slim, though it does sometimes. If you like the look of it though, I think rotala sp. green would be a good replacement and I've been seeing a bunch of it in the S&S lately.
Tank looks good though! I'm always a fan of a rimless 2.5
