Glenn,

I'll get an update on this one at the same time as the 90g. Like the other tank, this one's changed pretty significantly too. My wife wanted to do a Dutch style aquascape so we're using this tank for it. The wood and A. nana are all in the 90g biotope now.

Of the two, I like this one best. Great job on both of them.

Thanks Jason. Of all the aquatic gardens (vs. biotope setups etc) I've ever done, this one is by far my favorite. As much as I admire the Nature Aquarium style, designing and maintaining this aquarium has shown me I'm a Dutch kind of guy when it comes to big tanks.

Regards,
Phil

That tank is absolutely stunning, I LOVE the way it looks! The angels are perfect in there too.

Its looking awesome. I've been wondering how these tanks were coming along for a while now.
Whats going on in the very back of the tank? The dark green growth on the back wall... some type of epiphyte?

JG,

That's all Petite Nana with a tiny bit of Java Fern in the top left corner.

Cwhite,
Thank you! I agree, Angels go very well with this type of aquascape. I lucked out and got this sextet from someone in my local club who crosses a Gold Angel with a Koi Angel and got these beauties.

Hydrophyte,
Thank you very much.

It is too bad that you have to tear this tank down. Is the other tank coming down soon too? What are you planing for your tanks after your move?

All of my tanks are coming down, somewhat fortunately and somewhat unfortunately. There's a strong chance I'm going to be moving to Dallas and need to divest myself of as much aquarium related stuff as possible before packing. I want to reduce the stress on the Mrs as much as possible and we have no idea where we'll be living quite yet and don't know what sort of aquarium the new abode will hold.

My current plans for the tanks? Sell them if I can. If not, I'll hope really hard that the new apartment will have the wallspace for at least a 75g.

We've decided to cut down to a 75/90 and 20 high. We'll probably be doing another Dutch setup in whatever our largest aquarium turns out being. Catherine and I both like the forest look with lots of ferns, mosses, and the like so we'll probably do the 20 high along that theme. Part of the reason for the move is a good potential for some really interesting PhD work. If I'm going to be heading back to school I don't want to be caring for many tanks again.

Thanks for asking,
Phil

Well, good luck with your move and your PhD work. What field are you in?

There seems to be a lot of good aquarium stuff in the Dallas area. So hopefully you will be able to continue with your aquariums. Even with all of the work required by tanks, they can be such great stress relievers.

Jason,

I'm an aquatic plant biologist and wetland scientist. You're definitely right about there being good stuff for aquariums in the DFW area. I'm very excited about the possibility of joining that community.

Regards,
Phil
