Keep in mind that the HC that you just got was grown under ultra strong light. 120 watts only 2 inches above the plant.

The Blyxa is not as hungry for light as the HC but still needs decent lights. In Aquasoil it will do great.

I disagree, I have a 5.5 with that same light,AS and my HC grew into a huge carpet in short time.

That's because there's more watts over a 5 gallon...

Heating: Non-Brand Name 100W 8" glass heater (sounds crazy but great heater) Filtration: Red Sea Nano (could use a second) Substrate: Pond soil from a landscaping store; 1/2 inch of Eco-Complete on top. I also have a 46G planted tank.
