Today is my tank's 2 month anniversary!!
The current flora is: Cryptocoryne crispatula "Ruffled Crypt" (added yesterday) Hygrophila polysperma "Green Hygro" Monosolenium tenerum "Pellia" Lomariopsis lineata "Subwassertang" (added yesterday) Fissdens sp Rotala wallichii Hemianthus callitrichoides "HC" (added yesterday) Sagittaria subulata "Dwarf Sagittaria" or Vallisneria americana (unconfirmed, but I think it's Sag) Microsorum pteropus "Java Fern" Hemianthus micranthemoides "Baby Tears" or "Pearlgrass" Heteranthera zosterifolia "Stargrass" Current fauna: 1 Betta (yellow male) 6 Espei Rasbora 2 Otocinclus As you can tell, they Asian theme has kinda been broken!!! When I set up my 75g cube I will probably take out all the plants that are not Asian, and get it set up properly! Oh well, I really like how it's looking, but it still has quite a bit of work to be done. I want to pull the difformis as I think it's too busy looking for a 10g tank. The Baby Tears are an algae magnet in my tank, and hence not doing too well, so I think I will remove it, and spread my Rotala out to cover that area. I would like some Downoi to fill in the front left and where the Stargrass is, and when the plants have grown up enough I will pull the difformis, move the polysperma back there, and put the Stargrass where the polyperma is now. Anyway...pics are a thousand words. Lovin my Pellia: ![]() Proud of my Rotala's growth: ![]() Newly planted HC: ![]() FTS:

I'm really happy with the Pellia, the color is great, and it grows really well in my tank. I've been dosing Excel really carefully as I heard Liverworts don't take too well to it. I asked the guy I got it from, and he doses Excel, so I started it back up slowly. So far the Pellia has not reacted poorly at all. Too early to tell for the Subwassertang. |

Your tank looks great! Very unique, I love the bamboo. As everyone else stated, the pellia looks great. There's a new kind of pellia people are calling "mini pellia", you may want to add that to your wish list, if you're having so much success with the normal kind.
Keep us updated!

Ya, I have seen the mini pellia. The problem with Pellia is that it's high maintenance because it doesn't attach itself, so when it grows you have to trim it back to keep the under parts from dying which would cause it to release from your ties. So that's a pain in the butt. This tank has actually gone right downhill. I have been away for a month, so I haven't been able to do waterchanges, and my tank babysitter hasn't been refilling the CO2 often enough, so it's a swamp of BGA again!! So frustrating when I look back at the pics on here and see how nice it looked before!! I did make some changes since the last photo above. I did some trimming, removed the difformis, and added Subwassertang and a Crypt. The Crypt has since melted, but everything has grown in so the Stargrass, the Hygro, and the Rotala are all touching the surface now. But here's the pic from Sept 8:
