20G long Tonina and Eriocaulon Tank

Comming Soon!!!

Ok sorry I lied but I really am trying to put together this tank.

So first lets start with what I got. Becareful skirmish people, this isn't gonna be pretty.

There was once a time when it was at least an attempt to aquascape. Then I had to seperate strains of endlers and I was running out of space hence the tank seperaters. Then I got a bunch of plants from a member of the forum that I was dissapointed in and the were emersed and covered with snails, and was the wrong plants so I first put them there temporaily but u can see that I kinda gave up and just left it there.

In the 20L, there is a 65w light and no co2 or ferts. Really bad idea but supprize surpize, very very very little algae and the plants are growing good without any defeciencys. The wire u see in one of the pics was hanging off the side of my tank that use to hold the yeast bottle for diy co2. So don't worry its not in there

Then here are some of the things I am going to work with. This is the 29 gal tank under the 20 long.

Yes finally after a long time some erios. But I'm lacking in toninas. I ordered some Manaus from one of the members here but the post office gave gave me their calling card and most of the stems were broken and didn't make it. I only have one stem now and I am waiting to get some more. So you can kinda see it in that pic.

I have a 29 gal on the bottom of that but I was moving plants around and stirred the substrate so now i have magical green water. It wasn't there and overnight, it says hi. But still even in that they do good. I am probally going to do a 100% water change to fix it.

START

Ok so heres my plan, there is a co2 tank and I feed co2 to the 29 gal tank under it. I want to split the co2 and feed it to the 20 long too. I was thinking of a mainfold but I don't know much about that. Any ideas guys?

I only have flourite right now and it seems to be working, my single tonina and eriocaulons are all doing good. I finally won the algae war but during then, my erio thialand is in rough shape. I am hopeing that it pulls through. But in the mean time, all the other erios are good with EI dosing without adding K2SO4. Then 2 people that are very reputable said one to add and the other not to. Not sure if I should change my plan.

I am going to do a dutch style tank with pantanals and other plants. But I need some more suggestions. Specifically I want to add more eriocaulons. Its very werid, its a very plain plant but once u have one, it seems like always want more. So I am in the process of trying to get some more overseas since its seems so hard to get some in the US.

Any suggestions or comments to make this dream a success is greatly appericated.

It occurs to me that I have accidentally offended one of the members of the forum when talking about the manaus. To clear up things it was 2 different orders that came through. One was very terrible from one member from his own actions. The manaus itself was a good order that was just damaged from the post office. The second member I mean that in a neutral statement and am indcating that its going to take me a while before I get this tank all good. It was a misunderstanding and I don't mean to say it was ur fault or any negative connotations except the first seller. So I appoligize if my post seems pointed that way.

Thanks mrkookm but I already did email them and called them, no such luck so far.

I'm about to completely tear down everything and start over on this project. I just got some HC and I plant to use that as my forground. I want to try the dry method but what light should I use to grow it?

For the moment, I'm gonna probally use some DIY CO2 for these by hanging them off the side of my tank.

Ok I did a total tank tear down and I decided to grow some HC in the dry tank. I planted them and left it outside. I hope this works. Its under a tree for some shade and there will be a glass cover to cover half the tank so extra heat escapes.

I was thinking of using this as hardscape but I think I'm gonna go all dutch on this one.

Any comments or advice is appericated.

I know this thread is pathatic. I'm working hard on this but it doesn't seem like HC likes full sun. I messed up pretty bad. So I just filled the tank and used UG in the mean time. Will put up some pics but right now I'm looking for a few plants to finish this up.

Does anyone have any

Tonina fluviatilis
Tonina belem

In case if anyone cares, I did plant this tank but sadly it couldn't aquascape it or do a tonina erio tank. Instead it is one nice erio and a grow out tank.

I was under attack from green water and tried to get a UV sterilzer but in the mean time I did a 75 percent water change. I should have done100. So my water is couldy right now.

I realized that I shouldn't aquascape until I mastered the art of growing plants. So my main tanks became grow out tanks instead.

actually once you remove those floating plants and let them grow in, it would look nice

I can already imagine the end result, actually the placing of the plants are correct.

I say just let them grow and trim them well and you should be right on track

Yeah I'm just leaving them there for the moment because I had a major rescaping project in all my tanks. Thanks man, I really hope this one looks good this time.
