ok just to tell everybody. i only had my tank since last year probably november after my birthday (nov. 26) so i've probably had my 60g tank for 3 months and oi had a 10g tank a month before so about 4 months in the hobby shows you what research can do.

I hear ya SeaSerpant. Ive been in the hobby sence I was a kid, but havnt had a tank for more then 15 years. Back then my dad did most of the work LOL.
Research and people that know what they are doing and willing to help are the best ways to learn anything.

The Neons have brightened up a lot! and the 2 Yoyos are flying around the tank. Thinking about cutting the baby swords and planting them sometime this week.

Grower, you need to get a lot more plants in there. That will help to fix your nitrate problem, and keep potential algae that will want to attack at bay. Also after the tank gets fully planted and stable, trash the bio balls because the whole tank will be a big biological filter, if anything filtration for our tanks is for flow, and water polishing more or less.

PS. So, you ever rent Greenhouse space ?

Thanks guys!
Going to get more plants soon. LFSs dont have many at the moment. The plants are randomly thrown in there now just so they can grow and what not.
A Hill- Thanks for the advice on the bio-balls. Actually thinking about moving to a canister sometime in the future allso. I know the wet/dry filter will leach out co2 so it would probably be for the better in the long run.
PS. Haha wish we rented greenhouse space! Im tempted to take one of the smaller ones that we use at stores and throw it in the back yard.

SeaSerpant- Ill get more pics soon. I borrowed the camera so Ill need to get it again. This coming week Im going to get alot more plants and some more eco-complete hopefully. The 3 ok/good LFSs in the area are out of driftwood and have few plants for some reason.

Now we need to see the nano reef pictures. Your FW tank looks great and is coming along nicely. Maybe some more stem plants or crypts..

Crypts would be good.

Also if you start trimming those longer stem plants and replanting the tops they should start filling in...

Slowly but steadily!

PS - the Neons look great!
