TheShark's Tank - 10g

Here are a few pictures of my first ever planted tank.
Tank is 1month old and the plants have grown 3 times the size from when I got them.

Tanks Specs:
10g Tank
Substrate - EcoComplete
Lighting - 30w CF (screw-in) Will be upgraded to 41w CF, once it fills in more.
Co2 - 2 2litre Diy Co2 (averaging 1bps) Dispersed through HOB Filter.
Water Temp - 75'F
Fish - Cherry Barbs & 4 Zebra Danio (Amano Shrimp being picked up tomorrow)

Looks like you're off to a great start.

Now for a smaller stealthier heater.

Then again, your plants may hide that one soon enough.

Nice, I like the way you have some open ground in front. I've been considering setting up my 10 again with one of these mini canisters http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...2&pcatid=16742
I need to get my 55 all set first.

That Canister filter looks sweet! Great price too

In addition to the heater, I'd see what you can do to hide the airlines running to the filter intake. Maybe it's just how it's catching the flash, but it distracts from your otherwise lovely scape. Perhaps some black airline instead?

I think I might look into putting a black sponge on the filter intake and raise the tubes higher, black tubes would be a good choice too, thanks for the tip swylie

With regards to the filter.. I am using a 200w heater, yup I know.. a little overkill. I had purchased a smaller nano junior heater which was black and kind of cool. I dont know if it is me, but it didn't seem to increase the water temperature much (maybe broken?) Has anyone had any experience using this type of heater?. Its rated for less than 5g but I thought it would be suitable to raise a temp of 10g of water from 71'F to 74-75'F ..... but it didn't raise it 1 degree...

Oops forgot...

Just came back from the LFS and purchased some Brazilian Micro Sword (Lilaeopsis brasiliensis) to go just between the Hair Grass and the rocks on the left. I think I will put a little down infront of the right rock too.
