TimR's 50 Breeder updated 12-12-06

So life got busy and I couldn't maintain my 100 anymore. I tore it down, cut the stand in half and setup this 50. It's exactly the same dimentions just half the length. I'll run down the specs and then post some pics.

Equipment:
Ehiem 2215 w/ hagen surface skimmer
Hydor 200w heater
AH Supply 2 x 96w
5lb Co2 tank w/ diy reactor
80lbs Eco Complete

Plants:
Didiplis diandra
Hemianthus micranthemoides
Rotala macrandra v. 'narrow leaf'
Rotalla wallichii
Rotala roundifolia
Limnophila indica
Hydrocotyle Leucocephala
Vallisneria spiralis
Cryptocoryne petchii
Cryptocoryne crispatula
Cryptocoryne wendtii green
Blyxa Japonica
Bolbitis heudelotii
Hemianthus Callitrichoides
Heteranthera zosterifolia
Hygrophila polysperma
Weeping Moss
Dwarf Hairgrass
Downoi

No fish in there yet. They are paitently waiting my a 20L. I stuffed this tank with plants. A lot of stems too. Things are growing great. It's been setup for 3 weeks now. I started EI a few days into it. 1 light is on 7 hrs a day, the second if I turn it on is only for 2 hrs. This last week I've gotten some GSA and a bit of thread algae. Hopefully I will overcome that.

I will thin out the plant species when I do my "final"(yeah right) scape.

pics are day 2, week 1, and week 2.

Since this tank turned up so much interest I thought I would update...

So I did a little trim, moved and removed some plants.

I've tried to get rid of the blinding white tops of the plants (as you can see in the last picture of this post) but what I have found to work makes the picture too dark. Any suggestions?

Pics are before trim, after trim and today.
