Substrate Mix

Well I should be getting one of my reefs tore down soon so I can start working on my planted tank and I have a question. I have about 70 lbs of a mixture of eco complete and flourite and that wont be enough so I was thinking of mixing in some Tahitian Moon Sand how will that work. I have a 4 foot 120 so I am not sure how much I will need but I do like the dark look.

Over time, as you plant and un-plant, the sand will work its way down to the bottom. I would only mix substrates with similar grain size and weight, unless you want the fine stuff on the bottom.

Get some Flourite Black for a darker cover...
