MTS setup question

This may be a stupid question, but would it be okay to set up and cap my mineralized soil a few days to a week before plants and water would be added, or would this cause problems?

I've always kind of wondered that too. The worst that could happen is that it would dry out, which I don't think is a big deal, it's going to get wet again.

I suppose if I were to do it, I'd cover the top of the tank with plastic wrap. And I'd probably spray it down every day.

I have a glass top that would allow the top to be completely covered as long as there's no need for filter tubes. It would just be convenient for me to have the substrate ready and waiting, especially since I'll be getting a lot of plants online. Has anyone else done it? Aside from drying out, which I think I could prevent, might there be any other issues with it?
