Ok i am new to this and i dont know how to rinse sand can anyone tell me how

Put a fair amount of sand into a bucket, run some water into it, swirl the sand around with your hand, pour off the dirty water and repeat till reasonably clean.

i like to put it in a 5 gal bucket and put the hose into it and swirl it around the bottome of the bucket letting the water overflow thru the top till the water is clear enough for me to see the sand

You can also use one of those paint strainers that goes over the buckets. Pour some sand in and rinse till somewhat clean. If you got some really fine sand then this may not work.

I found the trick is to adjust the water pressure to the point where the sand gets stirred up, but it doesn't get so stirred up that it will shoot the sand out of the bucket. It took some finesse on the faucet, but we lost very little sand and cleaned it up a lot.

yeah, the "dusty" sand parts will float up with the water with little pressure from the faucet.

i got my sand clean, it was in my 55gal tank already so all i did was fill it up half way, stir up the sand and start to bucket it out. i had to do this a few times, i flooded my driveway (lol) but got clean water and sand. I just want to say thanxs to all, you been a big help and i now know how to clean sand
