Goldfish in place of rcs

Is it possible for me to set up a 10 gallon tank for rcs and then put a goldfish in it before i get the shrimp? This is because i already have filters cycled so i when my shrimp arrive, i can just swap out the shrimp with the goldfish.

The reason why i want to use a goldfish is because it can provide a more stable amount of ammonia. I could add drops of ammonia daily but then there might still be ammonia in my tank when i get my shrimp.

The goldfish is about golfball size if that matters with the bioload.

Also, my choices of cycled filters are:
a sponge filter that runs ~15 gph
Aquaclear 20 (100 gph)
aquaclear 30 (150 gph)
Zoomed 501 canister, i think it runs at about ~80 gph?

I dont know what combo i should go with.

I do remember i made a thread on what filer to get for the 10 gallon a few weeks ago (i decided to go with only a sponge filter) but then i looked up more shrimp tanks and noticed that people use aquaclears a lot.

Thanks for any help!

Where are the filters now that they are cycled? If they're on a tank staying cycled, seems you could skip the fish altogether. He might mess with any plantings, too...

That is the best plan. If you leave them on the tank you will lose your cycle

Well, the filters are on a 10 gallon that i already have running with mosquito fish (looks like wild guppies)

I will be getting another 10 gallon tank soon though with less scratches so i want to use that tank instead, but, i want to put that tank in the place of the 10 gallon tank i currently have.

Should i just change out my original plan with the mosquito fish keeping the filters cycled instead of the goldfish?

I would do it like this though:
Move the fish to a bin temporarily
move the 10 gallon tank to the floor (or where ever) and then put the filter with the fish in it
Then set up the new tank and all the good stuff (no filter running, maybe air stone to circulate water)
Finally, when i get my shrimp, put the cycled filters on the new tank with the shrimp. The fish i do not have to worry about because i will be giving them to a friend with a pond.

Sound like a good plan?

Oh yeah, and what is your guys' opinion on what filters i should use.

thanks!

Plant it with a little density and you wont have to worry about the cycle.....
