K, I know you want a shrimp only tank, but I think a huuuugggeee school of Celestial Pearl Danios would look amazing in there.

All my plants are low light and only use flourish. I have had the Anubias for ever (7+ years) and all my plants grow slow but are very healthy.
My Java Moss is the only plant in there that grows like a weed but my shrimps love it Oh believe me SearunSimpson, I have been very tempted to add small fish in there like Cardinals, Harlequins and the ones you mentioned. But I'm afraid they will eat alot of the shrimplets. I might add some fish later once the tanks starts to get crowded with shrimps. Last edited by Scipio; 09-29-2008 at 06:04 AM. |

I believe that is Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Tropica'
Hi fishsandwitch, Malaya shrimps have a larval planktonic stage so they won't interbreed. I'm getting a few more greens from some one that keeps them with CRS and has no problems with them crossbreeding. I have contacted a few other people that keep dark greens and neon green with both Caridina and Neocaidina with no problems. There is a green shrimp that is Neocaridina that will interbreed with other Neocaridinas. These are the greens I currently have in my 10g http://www.petshrimp.com/greenshrimp.html http://www.shrimpnow.com/modules.php...ewarticle&id=8 I'm hopping to get some Dark greens soon but I'm not sure if they will interbreed with the greens I have. I have to research some more to be sure. |

Nice tank!
Sorry I kinda demanded some pictures I think you should try and find some rusty claw macro shrimp to add in there. Hard to find, but they're safe and neat shrimp. Dwarf crays could add some more personality as well. Who needs fish -Andrew |

The moss was originaly in my 10g tank attached to a peice of wood about 8" long and 5" wide. I just took out the whole thing and placed it on top of the highest standing drift wood in my 125g at the time. It sat really nice and snug so I left it there and now it has spread out.
It has also taken hold of the back tank wall. I need to trim some off the top and some from where it grows to the front of the tank. I'm not trimming the ends that grow from side to side. I actually had to tuck the left side a bit down cause it had reached the other peice of wood on the other side of the heater. The shrimps do a nice job of making it look nice and fluffy. From left to right the moss has grown about 21" long, and right now its about 9 1/2" high and 11" deep. I once counted 38 large rcs just chilling in the moss doing thier thing, the shrimps looked like...... cherries in a tree Funny thing is I never see any of the amanos go in the moss. I only see the rcs and crs in there. All the small plants seem from the side view in are runners. I need to do a major aquascape but I don't really want to stir up the substrate, cause it send out a bunch of muck if messed with. Last edited by Scipio; 09-29-2008 at 06:04 AM. |
