Karen,

Congratulations, soon you will have a tank full of them. Currently I have about 700 of them in my 10G, these shrimps breed like crazy. Keep us posted. Thanks.

Kevin

Thanks all
Kevin it seems that almost as fast as I can update this thread that I look around and yet another pregnant momma. These shrimp were all about the same age when they arrived, hence one might assume that they would reach breeding age equally. We are certainly having some hankie pankie going on in there
Doing my late night tank gazing...a beautiful little CBS so perfectly marked. Your stock is so nice. Only one loss from the original stock that is fantastic.
Have number of mag glasses of different strengths the one for the babies is like 8X very good for baby watching.

Had not checked on this tank today, I love night time CRS gazing. A momma must have given birth since last night the bottom is just crawling with babies. Really there must be 25-30 babies??, once again an almost equal number of black & red crystals. They are amazingly cute.

More late night gazing, this time with a super high powered mag glass. Was looking at a Momma and her eggs and it is just amazing to see the difference in the eggs. One can actually pick out the CRS or CBS eggs on the momma. These babies are consistently staying on the bottom of the tank to feed. Still I just have to pinch myself that we got um' to breed. I have wanted these shrimp for years, but knew without specific conditions that I was in for heartbreak & throwing a lot of money down the drain. I'm so glad that I took my time and learned!!!!

Anyone even the postman that comes to our home I kindly ask them to sit and see the shrimp.
Undoubtedly the first statement is "Now what am I looking at??" LOL
Have a great weeking all

Karen,
I know by now you are totally hooked. These shrimps are cute, and once you got them to breed, you'd sit for hours watching them, I know I did
It's time to upgrade to higher grades LOL, I know you will. Congrats

Not to self...one more group of hatchings. They look so tiny next to the first & second group of hatchings.

Oh Kevin you have no idea how hooked I am. Yes, it probably is time to upgrade to higher grades just need to find a few from someone. I don't need many just a couple. These shrimp of yours do throw some nice babies. Looking at them under really high magnification there are some nice shrimp from your kids LOL
What else i find amazing is how many CBS that hatch. I may need to thin out the blacks after XMAS. We are entering that shipping voodoo time.

By the thread title, I thought this was going to be a discussion of why CRS/CBS are better than women, lol!

Kevin I'll try and get some good shots. You know how tiny the newborns are.... But the teenagers are just adorable to watch. When we feed they come running. CRS are the only shrimp we have that do this, they will grab the pellets and take off with it. Thief's!!! You will see the shrimp flying through the air with a crab bite..... Happy Holidays...

Karen,

Happy holidays. Oh, yeah these are greedy creatures, but Amanos would rob them blind for the food. Amanos are notorious for stealing.
