AMAZING and Strange Survival Story

I used to have ghost shrimp in my red cherry shrimp tank, until I gave away my ghost shrimp and got the red cherry shrimp. I gave away every ghost shrimp I had, and I did not see any ghost shrimp eggs in my aquarium. That was more than a month ago. But guess what I saw in my red cherry shrimp tank today! A baby ghost shrimp! Where could the little guy have come from? Won't he eat my red cherry shrimp babies and my red cherry shrimps when he gets bigger? I still am amazed by his mysterious appearance out of nowhere. And how did he grow past the larval stage? Now I know why they are called ghost shrimp. Because, well at least from my experience, they can come back to haunt your other shrimp! It is definately a ghost shrimp. The eyes and shape of the body are different from the Red Cherry Shrimp, and it is crystal clear. Please comment.

I had the same thing happen , the eggs float in that larvae stage , and if they manage to not get eaten they survive and thrive , and yes the mean little buggers will eat anything

My wife found an Amano walking down the hallway in my laundary room last night. Does that count? About 15 foot walk, and I have two cats. He made it back to the tank.

How did the Amano shrimp get out? Well, it's a good thing it made it back to the tank. I haven't seen the baby ghost shrimp yet this morning. He's probably hiding, but could the red cherry shrimp eat him?

He's really small, about the size of a grain of rice.

i thought its was near impossible or very hard to raise ghost shrimp larvae since ive heard they require salt water for part of their lives, is that not true?

No, they do not need saltwater to grow past the larval stage, but they are difficult to raise past the larval stage.

No, it is not a baby red cherry shrimp. It is definately a ghost shrimp. Baby red cherry shrimp look different from baby red cherry shrimp. And it can't be a red cherry shrimp baby because only one has been berried so far and it dropped all of its eggs, and that was a week ago. Before it dropped its eggs, it was berried for a less than a day. It takes a month for the red cherry shrimp eggs to hatch.

yes not true ,, ghost shrimp are 12 for a buck cause they are easy to breed , if there are no predators with them
