Question about quarentine?

I have 3 fish in my quarentine/hospital tank. I obtained them one week ago and origianally had four but one just never seemed to thrive and died 2 days ago, the 3 remaining are looking great and eating and very active.

My question is, when should I move them into the main tank? I have ich in my small 10gal planted and want to move those fish into the hospital tank to treak it and then raise the temp in my 10 gal. (I also have a house full of company and I hope that this post makes some sense.) How long should I treat the fish and keep the tank temp up? I have mostly java ferns in the tank so I think they will be fine with increasing the temp.

Any advise or info would be appreciated.

Personally, I think I would treat the 10 for ich with one of the formalin/malachite commercial preparations such as Rid-Ich, keep the healthy fish in the quarantine tank, and lay off buying any more fish until you have things straightened out. It will take 3 weeks to completely treat the tank for ich.

If you decided to put the ichy fish in another Q tank for treatment, the ich will die out in the 10 in the same 3 weeks without medication as long as no fish are in it and the temperature is maintained at around 80. Avoid treating the new fish for ich if they have definitely NOT been exposed (including dipping a wet net in the tank after it has been in the contaminated tank) as it is stressful for the fish.

Thank You, can I use those chemicals in the tank with the plants though?
