Want to join the club ... recommendations?
Okay, I've spent all morning up to the shoulders in my 55 trying to kickstart my *@#$!! Fluval 204. The problem may actually be my "plumbing" rather than the actual pump, but in any case it's not cooperating and is only moving a trickle. It's a bit underpowered for a 55 anyway (I already had it, and it was free

So you're looking for something over 200gph right (if fluval 204 isn't strong enough)? If you want to go classic, you can get the 2217. If you want to go Pro, get the 2026.

I have a 2215 and a 2213 on my 55g. Some people say just the 2215 alone would be plenty. A 2217 definately would do the job extremely well. I added just a 2213 at first and it was extremely weak for this ammount of water. So then I added the 2215. I think I could have gone with 2 2213's and it would of been fine. I run a 2213 on a 30g and have great filtration on it. I'm a fan of the classic line. Have 3 of them here and have zero problems with them. I think I just located a free 75g tank here in town, so I might be just adding a 2217 to that one.

I did similar to what Corigan did. I originally ran just a Filstar XP3, but because I had to reduce the flow for my UV and CO2 reactor I invested in a 2213 for mechanical filtration. If I have both full blast its way too much circulation. You should be set at a 2217...unless you want the priming system of the higher-end models.
