here is a pic of our 55g taken with my wife's awesome dig. camera. this tank has been up and running for more than a year, during which time i have slowly upgraded to a 4 wpg/pressurized co2 setup. the reddish crypt has been with me almost since the beginning, fertilized with flourish tabs, but didn't get real happy 'til the lighting was upgraded to power compacts. most of the plants were introduced 3 months ago, when i began a 2x2 litre bottle diy co2 setup. ahh yes, that was about the time i discovered this board and all y'all! upgraded to a pressurized system(with some luck from a friend, i.e. free 5 lb.canister) with a milwaukee reg. setup from custom aquatics which has been running for 1 week. along with flourish k and fe, once per week and a 15-20% water change. green hair algae is a nuisance, and still needs frequent manual removal. the plants really took off after 3 days or so,especially the val, and these photos are post-pruning, as i am trying to let them fill in evenly without shading each other. is this sound logic, or should i just let them go for a while?

the cardinal tetras have been with me since the beginning, in fact i bought ten to cycle the tank and 9 are still with me(#10 was a suicide, pre-glass tops!)
