Algae Grower

Hi there, I'm trying to ID a bulb that I got from Pet Supplies Liquidators. I ordered a lighthouse 55W with a 6500K bulb. They sent me a bulb that said actinic on the outside of the box. I told them so and they offered me to resend the bulb. They did but it looks like I got the exact same bulb as the one before. The second bulb was sent without any box or cover, just the naked bulb, so I don't have the description. However, both bulbs have the same specs on their bases, they read AQUALUX 55W/PG+10KK . I assume that what I got is a 10000K bulb. I have a freshwater planted tank and don't need actinic bulbs, so I want to make sure that I can use any of these two bulbs. I just want to know what kind of bulb I have. Does anyone recognizes these specs that I read from the tubes. This is my first purchase of CF bulbs so I don't know too much about them. TIA.

It seems like you got the Plant Growth bulb (PG - 10kK) which is half red (high PUR) and half 10,000K. It should be excellent for your plants. Have you wired it up and taken at look at the light output? Take picture, if you have a digital camera. I'd be anxious to see what it looks like.
