Growing HC with a 13w OttLite?
Anybody growing HC in a nano with an OttLite 13w fixture? Im setting up a 2.5g and I want it to be pretty much a carpet of HC, some hardscape and maybe some Subwassertang. My set is going to be 1 OttLite 13w, AS Amazonia powder & DIY CO2. I will have another 13w Ottlite I could add if needed.

You should start it immersed. It will give you a thick carpet in a few weeks where submerged it will grow but much slower. I made the mistake of not starting my HC immersed and it is growing but really really slow. I have it in a 15 gallon with 28 watts of T5's.

you can go both ways really..i use 2 ott-lites on my 5 gallon..it's sending out shooters like nothing! you've just gotta keep trimming. either way, best of luck!
