Algae Grower

3 gal with azoo hob filter/ need advise
I have a azoo hob palm filter in my 3 gal tank. See link below.
http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...fm?pcatid=9821 It has an adjuster for the flow of the water but even with it at the lowest setting I managed to suck up one of my Red Cherry Shrimp into it. I red online to put stockings over the intake but what I've found is that it gets clogged with algae. Oh yea, i have algae in my tank. I don't want to get rid of it because the shrimp and otto eat it and it's free food. Do you guys have any suggestions on how I can guard the shrimp from the intake and still filter out the free floating algae in the water? Thanks, |

get a coarse sponge filter and stab it until there's a hole big enough for the end of the intake to go in..
