NYC aquatic plant club

R newbies allowed? I just bought my first batch of Java Moss and there's no turning back! Seriously, I've had tanks for 10 years but have always wanted to get into planted aquariums. I would be good to have some face to face advice. When's the first meeting?

My apologies on my extended delay on this club. I had a few personal matters to deal with before continuing with my hobbies.

Lately I see that many of us here are from Astoria. I would like for all of us to meet at starbucks in astoria, ditmars for our first meeting.

However, I know that the holidays are near and I don't want to take time away from your families. But would like to meet the first Saturday after new years. All levels of experience are allowed.

My first agenda is to know NYC better in terms of all the local fish stores. During our meeting I would like to get to know the members of PT better and plan on how we can visit as many LFS as possible.

Which trains/buses go there?

The N or W train to the last stop towards queens. Im not so sure about busses. I remeber the Q19 use to go there. Maybe someone can fill us in. Otherwise tommrow I will take a walk to note for busses.

Hey guys, this is day one of my planted tank and my planted tank research.

I also have a 20g reef tank but picked up a cheap 10g bow that I am going to use for a planted FW tank.

I would definiitely be in for learning a little more, and Im from Bayside!

Is this still happening? I'm in north Brooklyn, and have some small java fern plants and water sprite to give away or trade. I also have a bunch of odds & ends lying around, like a UV sterilizer, heaters, thermometers, nets, and things like extra driftwood and a pile of slate. It'd be nice to play swap'n'shop with everyone!

Right now I'm in the market for new rockwork for my 20 long -- getting tired of all that driftwood in there. Anyone have any rocks they'd like to sell/give me? I'm going to post a want-ad on the trading board in a minute...
