Wow I had no idea those algae-eating shrimp could grow that large! I've been wanting some for my 55g tank, but I've been afraid that they'd simply become food for my adult 3"-4" Angelfish. Did you buy them that large?

That is not an algae eateng shrimp... Just a Glass shrimp. Eats anything but plants and algae(leftover food, dead fish, waste, deadsnails)

Is This your shrimp?

http://www.shrimpcrabsandcrayfish.co...s/image030.jpg

It looks like it may be a Macrobrachium sp. which is actually a species of freshwater prawn.

very nice looking critter!

46 Gallon BowFront with a Bow Front canopy I made. I'll add pis of that tonight.

2 96W bulbs and 1 25W
Water Temp 80F
PH 6.8

2 DIY C02 Bottles fed into my AquaClear 300. I got a vortex reactor in today from plantguild.com and WIll be hooking it up tonight. Right now the C02 is @ 15PPM and I am hoping to get it around 18-25PPM with the vortex and a third bottle.

I'll probably add the vortex and see how that does for 48 hours before adding a 3rd bottle. Dont want to shock the fish with a huge increase of C02.
