dupla lighting

Hi all ... this is my first time post.
I picked up a used Dupla Lux pendant light
at a tag sale..the bulb that came with it is
a German Osram bulb..I emailed Osram with questions about the bulb and no responce.
will this bulb be good for growing plants??
here are the only specs I could get on the bulb
1.color temp 3200k
2.lamp watts 125
3.luminous otuput in lumen 6500lm
4.CRI in RA 59RA
the bulb is a Osram HQL 125W DE Luxe.
I hope someone can help me

Does the light fixture use a ballast to power the light ? How about the base of the bulb, is it the same or larger than a standard household bulb? 3200k is a little warm for a planted tank.

Marcel.. The lamp has a ballast ...also it has a standard house bulb E27 type base.

Looking in a Grainger catalog, there aren't too many HID bulbs with that base. I did find a couple of Matal Halides with the E27 base in a 100 watt version, which seemed to have the same 3200K temp.. BTW the E27 base is designated for export only, apparently that base poses an electric shock hazard and is not intended for sale in the U.S, according to the catalog. I guess its OK to zap the foreigners.
You got nothing to lose by trying it out. How big is your tank ?
