betta breeding problems

my bettas are breeding but my male isnt catching the eggs and putting them in the nest

hmmm. Separate the male and female and try again in a few weeks.

sometimes the females will catch or find the eggs and put it in the egg nest too. I've seen it and it was a surprise.

Time to get a new male. That's how bettas are. They have personalities and some could be great fathers while others may lack in the same dept. Some males eat their eggs as they drop, while some eat them after when they start moving the eggs around the bubble nest.

Same goes for females. Some may help the male catch all the eggs and even scour the bottom for all visible eggs, while others just lay motionless (per mating round) until the male is done catching/finding all the eggs.

Yeah, I have had some male bettas that were too stupid to breed.
