Many plants...little time

Nice Growth Custom!
How are those Lobelia's doing? I definitely agree, it needs some hardscape...I'd go with Manzanita.

I've never seen such long blxya. Looks awesome!
I agree with Coltonorr, some manzanita driftwood would look good. Maybe one branch on each side?

I think hardscape would help. I personally like tanks that have both color contrast and height contrast. I think a more defined forground, mid-ground and background would help it come together.

thanks for the replys yes wood would make it look better, all i have now is a thick piece of mopani i got for a 10g , im looking at wood now trying to figure where to put it.
friend of mine sayd he can get me some cypress knees soon ( legally) so maybe thats something that would make this scape more balanced, i figure they would look like mountians and might be a neat idea but never see them in tanks anyone ever use cypress knees in a tank or seen it used? |

Ohh let me know how the cypress knees turn out. That's something I wanted to try! (Don't have access to them though)
Being one who uses less hardscape, my thought is that it needs a more definite shape; maybe trim downward from right to left (or left to right) for example. Beautiful, healthy looking tank.

Tank looks really healthy now and you have a really nice collection of plants in there.
Personally, I think Id limit the number of species in there. (Something I can't control in my own tank, since I also have Collectoritis) Also, Id create a little bit of a low/empty area in the middle front. Generally, I dont think that stem plants right up near the front of the tank look so great. The stem plants immediately to the right of your blyxa on the left side of the tank looks a little out of place, also. Have you considered a ground-cover type plant instead of all the stems at the front?

On the cypress knees, you'll definitely have to weight them. Even after being in my tank over a year, the large piece I have still doesn't sink. And it looks much better if you peel the bark off.

A 29G is a tough one. I have one and I'm in the upgrade process up to a 75G. With the new tank I'd definitely will scape. The tank before was just growing tanks.
I'd limit the species and group them together more. Leave some negative/empty space for contrast.

wow special plans u have some skills lol, looks like a cypress knee! the bark is removed on pieces for aquariums so its smooth and whiter in color but good job! i need to do that with my tank so i recape it without moving the plants. you use photoshop?
i rescaped the tank and moved stuff around alittle but im having trouble with where to put the aubertis. i got rid of the sesslifolia completly and getting rid of 2 of the aubertis, theres 4 in there. i hate to get rid of them but there to big for this tank. i may move the aromatica to the right side so its beside the gayi. it should look better over there? have some manzanita coming since the cypres knees are still available till who knows. im gonna try to make the plants sloped from right to left.just need more colors in plants ![]() ![]()
