I have a gaming computer don't use much.
All i really use is firefox, itunes & msn messenger (with the msgplus addon). Useful utilities to have: Audacity VLC Media Player Winrar Object Dock AlienGUIse ( it's a GUI program that looks pretty nice ) - using the Zune theme atm. Abobe CS4 Suite is pretty nice. Also a huge freeware fan - Linux is getting there - Ubuntu is a very nice distro - Linux Mint is also very ncie as well.

I consolidated some of your favorite utilities into an easier-to-read list, hopefully some of you get to know a couple of new useful tools. I did - just finished putting all my passwords into KeePass.
I exclude all the antivirus/antispyware stuff since it has already been discussed to death, and it's kinda sad that we have to plug up our computers like that. Also I am skipping most of the things that are obvious (Firefox) or a bit on the expensive side (CS4 suite lol). Feel free to post more of your favorites, I might add them to the list.

I have been using Keepass (thanks jarberg27) since last June, and wouldn't want to live without it anymore.
Looking for a functional home page, I just stumbled across Symbaloo. Just a simple collection of bookmarks, better than what I have been using before (a Word doc with links).

Couple of updates -
I have replaced Symbaloo with FastDial (for Firefox). It runs as a local program, and can be synced from computer to computer by simply exporting bookmarks. If you work on more than one computer at the same time, Input Director is wonderful. Functions like a KVM switch, just much better. No cables, no malfunctioning USB ports, just software/network based and works. To get a nice graphical overview of your disk usage (SSDs are too small), I keep going back to WinDirStat. Not only useful, but eye-candy too! How about you? (Just noticed this is my post #12345)

Use common sense when using programs that deletes/downloads things.
Skype -- Video chatting Tokbox -- Free [group] video chatting conferences Digsby -- IM+Email+Social Networking Atube Catcher -- Downloading videos for presentation, projects, personal use, etc. Classic Start Menu -- Changes the theme of your start menu. It has different themes and almost fully customizable to your standards. VLC media player -- I like it ManyCam -- I find it more versatile and easier to manage compared to my hp webcam software RevoUninstaller -- Not only does it uninstall your software, it also deletes the things stored in the registry MP3Tag -- Usefull for converting music formats, mass tagging, editing song information, etc.
