My 24 ltr (6g) QT

Model: Superfish Aqua 30 - Guppy Kit
Tank size: 24 liter (6.3 gallons) (14"x9"x13")
Filter: Superfish, Aquaflow 100, internal sponge filter.
Heater: 50 watt glass.
Gravel: Grint zwart 1-2mm, black 1-2" deep, latrite bottom layer.
Lights: 11 watt compact flourecent.
Fertilizer: none- except for fish food & waste.
Parameters: KH 6-7 dgh, pH 7.6 to 7.9

This is my quarantine tank. I started this tank on 27 Dec 08. It is currently housing 10 male fry soon to be 5 (Found someone to take them). I think my females are finally finished flushing out (it has been about 8 months now).

** Santa dropped this off, Dec 2008.

** Gravel in, Water in, Heater on. I let that sit for a week while the filter is being seeded in my 30g. Pic-date: 28 Dec 08.

** Put in filter, a tennis ball size, lava rock and planted some plants. Some Ramshorn snails and some male fry went in. Brown algae was covering almost everything. Pic date: 7 Feb 09.

** Plant list: Anubias nana, Bacopa aquatica, Cryptocoryne x willisii, Bolbitis heudeloti (African Fern), Microsorum pteropus (Java Fern-very small one), Vesicularia montagnei (Christmas Moss).

** FTS (Full Tank Shot) 29 Mar 09.

After the recovery from the pH drop of 6.2 during the cycle, this tank has been doing great. I did lose one fry in the process.

Looking good. If you only lost a fry during cycling you were lucky.

Yeah, well there was the sick fish I had put in, too early, but he would have died in the big tank too. So I don't really count him.

I know there are some great planted nano tanks on this form, this tank is not really meant to be one of those master pieces. It is simply a quarantine tank for my 30g display tank that I keep in my living room.

FYI: So far it's been a pretty good tank. However, some condensation has gotten inside the plastic light cover and I've resorted to keeping one of the feeding panels open. Hope that doesn't become a problem. Also, the filter has gotten clogged twice already and removing the impeller can be a bit annoying. I have to un-suction the suction cups, to take the filter out, so I can get to the impeller... it always feels like I'm going to break one of the suction cups off, what a pain!
