Favour to ask of Vancouver B.C. Residents
Hey guys, if any of you living in Vancouver (or nearby) can keep your eyes open for Loaches, eels, and other oddballs? Can you let me know if anything interesting pops up? Over here on Vancouver Island the pickings are pretty slim.
If there are any interesting fish, I may call the store and do a Credit Card payment and maybe work out a deal with whoever to bring the fish the to ferry terminal (I'll walk on then meet you on your side). I'll give you plant cuttings from my tanks (limited selection) or buy you fish/plants/beer for your trouble.

I'd be happy to keep an eye out for you, but I don't drive so meeting you at the ferry terminal might be a challenge
Anything specific you're looking for?

Dang! My LFS had a stingray for the longest time, but they just sold him last week.
I just saw Arrowana's at the Big Al's in Richmond on the weekend... And King Ed has eels... I know they had fire eels the last time I was there... I'm going to my LFS tonight. Will scope it out. ![]() ETA confirmed that my LFS has a glass eel and some apistogramma panduro. The panduros are really cute -- the females look like koi. Other than that, no oddballs right now.

I live right by King Ed pet store (and sorta close to Big Als at Lougheed) and I go to the Tswassen ferry sorta often, so if you find something you like I'd drive it for you.
Don't ask me about what stores have, I'm still new enough that I go "ooh, look at that pretty fish! It's a cichlid you say?" |

Gareth, you talking about loaches reminds of the Loaches.com forum. That was first place that I saw your link to The Planted Tank. I have not been there for ages but I am still a loachaholic- glad to see you are still one! I would love to see Vaillantella maassi as well. Sadly though, the area where I live is deprived of oddball loaches. All I got is my lone Botia beaufortia. I love those tiger loaches.
We should get a Canada fish trade going. I could really use some lampeyes or apistogrammas.
