I bought 20 small neons (he gave me 21) last Friday and so far only lost 2, and those 2 deaths were due to me rescaping my tank on their second day of arrival, causing sand and ammonia/nitrate spike and they died almost instantly though none of the fish showed any sign of stress before that. The rest (19) are doing fine and I'm confident that the 2 deaths were pretty much entirely my fault. |

I was going to get some Amano and nerite in union square petco, can't find any lfs selling them except pacific (2 snails for 10 bucks, r u serious?) with ridiculous price, but I spot a tank with ich infested rummynose. I asked the lady working there, were all these tanks sharing the same water and she said yes without hesitation then I pointed my finger to the tank. She was like ohhh, I got to report that and I went home empty handed.

Brooklyn Zoo has some really nice apistos-agassizii "double red", borelli "opal" & panduro. They're going for 29.95-32.95 a pair ( I forget which price goes with which species), but there is Ich in a lot of the tanks, so quarantine is a must. World Class Aquarium has spotted headstanders for 3.99 or 3 for 11.00.

Anyone seen Pseudomugil Gertrudae Aru (spotted blue eyes) or other rainbows at a good price lately?

Fishtown USA often has rainbows in stock. Dunno if they have spotted blue eyes though.

Thanks Monster Fish, it is so funny, they never have what I want when I am there, though I always read on the forum that they have what I am looking for..weird..guess I have to go more often.

No prob. They will often have Boeseman's rainbows, threadfins, turquoise Rainbows, and other species from time to time. I don't really pay attention to them since I don't have the tank space for them. They are really nice to look at though. Their planted display tank has a few different species as well.
