That's where I got my school of green neons by mistake.
Good thing the owner was kind enough to catch each and every one of them in the cardinal tank.

So, anyone know what brand of flake food is best?
I've used Tetra all my life but what other flake brands would you guys recommend?

Oh, talking about flake food. I have been using aqueon tropical flake food. After a few days, I will have a layer of oily film because of the protein from flakes. Anyone know of any flake food that does not cause oily film or at least make it less. I of heard of using molly but I am not interested in getting the molly just for the oily film. Pointing my outflow higher will reduce it but the water is splashing on my light fixture.

How much did they charge you for the green neons?

I don't use flakes often but tetracolor is not what you're looking for. I use it to feed my grindal worms and everytime I dip the plastic into the water so much oil comes out, which I can only think is from the flakes.

Crud, i bought the Tetramin 3 in 1 tertacrisps, but my fish aren't big enough to ea anything but the granuales( or however its spelled)
If you guys have swordtail sized fishes, don't buy the 3 in 1 food
the baby shrimp won't fit in the mouth

Zoo-Rama in the Bronx is my local shop, went by yesterday and bought their last green neon tetra. They also had about 15 or so Pencilfish that I almost bought. They usually have a good stock of Torpedos/Roseline, Rummys and Cardinals.

I only feed New Life Spectrum pellets, I think they also make flake.

I have Wardley's Premium which even the amanos come swimming up to get in a 55G. I also feed it Ocean Nutrition and Tetra.

No matter what I drop in the tetras go in a feeding frenzy even duckweed. They make that disappear in a matter of days.

Same as the price for their cardinal tetra's. $1.25 or $1.50 each if I recall it right.

I also got a few Galaxy Rasboras from them way back. They are a few minutes away from my place and they do have a decent selection too.
I've been trying to get some green neons from them months back but they don't have it in stock. I was able to get them at win though.

Went to win today, couldn't really tell if there were green neons in the cardinal tank. Is the difference very blatant? Maybe I didn't look hard enough... Though there weren't too many tetras left in the tank anyway.

You will in the green neon that the red is much less vibrant/smaller area and the blue line extends all the way to the tip of the caudal fin.
The cardinals have more vibrant reds/covers a bigger area and the blue stripe does not extend all the way to the tip of the caudal fin.

Jeff, how much were the CPDs/Galaxy Rasboras? Do you know if they usually have them in stock?

I think they were priced at around $5.99 at the time I got them. I haven't been there for quite a while now though. I'll try to pass by this week and let you know if the have it.
