He means that the territorial SAE may harass otherwise peaceful Otos, which look similar to others of their species.

Albert: I remember the otos you bought being kinda small, so I don't see why he'll feel threatened by them, especially in a community tank. My guy isn't aggressive at all, not even towards cories, ghost shrimp, or guppies.
Oh, I see what you mean. I might do the same now, since I can't go with two SAEs. Thanks!

I found this link and chart yesterday, super helpful on distinguishing between SAE, False SAE and Flying Foxes: http://www.aquatic-gardeners.org/cyprinid.html

@meowK. thanks i wasnt sure how the Otos would be treated. They were really pale but surely colored up a few days later. btw, thanks for the company. We sure lucked out with our find at Petsmart!

@CPRash yeah, trying to avoid the faux sae.

UPDATE:
The Bad - SAE are sold out @123 aquarium.

The Good - Win now has hundreds of high quality Bettas from Thailand since Sunday. Deltas, half moons, maybe a giant or two, coppers and plakats. no Dragonscales that i noticed but many gorgeous ones to choose from. $6 each

The Better - Went to 14th Union square and saw PTR and SAE there. The fish were labeled Siamese flying foxes. $2.50 ea There are about half a dozen left in tank incase anyone's looking. Here's the best info I came across on identifying true SAE

Now looking for Cambarellus shufeldtii (Cajun Dwarf Crayfish/crawfish) and CPO

I think the store that goes underground a little (I'm bad with these names!) has CPO's. Not sure, but they are orange things. I have no idea how to check. Also, the store on the corner (ugh! Memory!) Has a ton of under 1" bronze cories, $1.99 each, or 4/$5. I have 4 which I will need to get rid of soon. I couldn't resist the cuties, though they are really pushing the limit on stocking... If anyone wants to trade/buy them, let me know. They are active, though a bit skinny.

I was just at Win today, I saw a couple dragonscale plakats...not the most perfect specimens but very pretty nontheless.

I also found a Petland Discount in the financial district today....surprisingly, this particular store (most petland discount stores have horrendous disease-infested fish) had very very healthy thriving fish. They had a tank full of perhaps the most healthy looking white cloud minnows I have ever seen.

Are you sure they were dragonscales or merely copper plakats?

Copper:
Dragonscale:

I didnt notice any dragonscales @ WIN, but about 25% of his stock were copper or pearl.

I was there yesterday noon. All were False SAE, except 1 little guy. TRUE SAE is getting hard to find...Pacific use to have them few years back in regular basis.

I know Petland Discounts sometimes stocks clown plecos from time to time. They also need driftwood to munch on.

I have only been to Coral a few times, but several years ago. Question....does Coral carry freshwater shrimps nowadays?

nope :/ sometimes they have some rather curious fish... but their tanks are not well kept at all. doubt shrimps will last 1/2 a day...in their tanks.
Their salt water selection however, although small, seems much healthier
