Nah I'm good. Thanks though! You could probably give some to win for credit if you feel overcrowded. Then again, he already has a bunch. Fish food? Lol.

Brooklyn zoo & aquarium occasionally stocks "curviceps" which are actually dorsigeras. Bit pricey though at $11.99. Bought one a year ago there, it was totally worth it...

..If so many people want pygmy cories why not order from Rachel and split shipping?

http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/in...1-18-12-a.html

Shipping cost was not bad at all even if you did not split shipping..

I would definitely buy from rachel again to support her business.

That said, I don't think its the shipping thats stopping people from doing that. Its the price difference.

I've seen pygmy cories here at places like petco down by union square going for as much as .99 cents. Thats pretty much a buck per cory. So that may explain why new yorkers tend to go local first in terms of sourcing out pygmies.

Honestly, I found those pygmies by accident. There's this middle-age gentleman at the Union Square Petco who can check for their availability if you ask. I was looking for kuhli loaches at the time because Rachel didn't intend to stock them. And then I just saw a whole school of pygmy cories in the next tank...for .99c plus tax. I nabbed all 30+ on the spot.

Personally, I've never seen Win or Pacific stock pygmies. Wierd. I heard Fishtown did though. With a good deal to boot. I was too busy at the time, so I missed out on that one.

The only gripe I have with buying from those places, especially Petco, is you have to remember to QT them. You never know if the fish is as healthy as advertised.

So you took them! I was probably there a day before you and saw them all in there, and figured, oh, they'll be here until I come back.

GONE.

lol

quick question: why are pygmy cories so popular? i mean they are cute and little. but so are other fish. Some other fish are even cuter.

this is a serious question as i see so many people looking for them?

I think it's because they're currently more available then they have been in the past. I know I searched high and low for them via online fish stores as well as LFS for years and couldn't find them.
