Aquascaping rocks in NYC or nearby

This is a lame question, but I am completting stuff for my tank and I need rocks Are there any good places or stores I can buy something? I live in Brooklyn so scavenging doesn't count, but I am willing to take a weekend trip to relaz and search for rocks Or maybe any interesting landscaping supply store in Brooklyn? Thank you.

None that I know of that won't cost you an arm and a leg.

I got some really nice rocks from StevenLeeds in S&S. Great rocks!

I initially bought my rocks at Fishtown USA in Flushing on Northern Blvd. I was generally pleased with their selection.

But then I went on a vacation weekend in the Poconos, and found several pounds of rocks I like even more for FREE.

I took a trip to rock county but I couldn't find anything special. All the nice ones were too big. But I had a great time Maybe Connecticut shore, but closer to NY, like Stamford or something. What do you think? I also considered Montauk.

Meh. The rocks you'll find at the shore will be round and smoothed out by waves. I've been all over Long Island and I've yet to find any rock outcroppings that I really liked. Gotta go west or upstate to find anything good. Shores are generally bad places to find rocks anyway, since most rocks will be worn smooth by wind, sand, and water.

I'm trying to avoid paying $8 for a stupid bridge just to scavenge for rocks, so I thought maybe I can find them somewhere on Long Island. I tried landscaping supply store in brooklyn, but all rocks they have are wetsaw cut ones that look very unnatural.

I just rescaped using the slate i found in the Poconos. I'm telling you, you gotta go West or Northwest if you want anything good.

I did see some rocks I liked in someone's landscaping in Westchester this week, but I resisted the urge to borrow them.
