swagelok needle valve?

I'm looking into getting a swagelok needle valve. Can someone tell me what part # I should be ordering? I looked at their website but there are so many that look the same with similar specs. Not sure which to order. I would ideally like something that can go down to 1 bubble per 5 sec. Thanks.

I use the low flow metering valves for smaller tanks and medium flow for larger tanks. Either of these valves with 1/8" fittings will go down to 1 bubble per 5 seconds, but the low flow valves would be better suited to your use.

Here are some that have 1/8" NPT threads:
low flow B-SM2-A: http://www.swagelok.com/search/produ...x?part=B-SM2-A

medium flow: http://www.swagelok.com/search/find_...s_results.aspx
http://www.swagelok.com/search/find_...s_results.aspx

There are also tubing to male or female NPT adapters available as well. This way you can use the tubing metering valves and connect them to your NPT fittings.

Part Number: B-2MA2
Description: * NUPRO SPECIAL
Quantity: 1
Unit Price: 61.50

I'm planning on ordering this one here it's not shown in there web site it's a Angle 1/8 mpt and they do make in strait 1/8 mpt. They also make it in 1/4 mpt and also in a fpt.
That is my Quota that they gave me. I think you might find it in Stainless Steal Model also. I thought of using it with a JBJ 1/8mpt Bubble Counter.

The angle version works better with the JBJ bubble counter, but you can find elbows if you use with the straight through version..

The low-flow metering valve will be all you need.

Yes I have a solenoid already. I'm going to look into these valves as they look to have enough control for me to get down to my bubble rate. Thanks guys.

I have an extra brand new B-SS2-A valve that I would be willing to sell to you at the price I paid for it (significantly below the retail price). If you check out the specs it has very fine metering control. I also can sell you the adapters for the price I paid for them (to go to 1/8 npt). I picked up another swagelok valve so I would be willing to sell this one.

Send a PM if you are interested.

When I look at specs on the SWAGELOK website...what am I looking for? Like I mentioned earlier I am looking for something that can go down to about 1 bubble per 5 seconds. I have no idea what the numbers mean and which specs I should be looking at to determine which valves will work for me. Anybody help me out? One of the valves i am looking at shows these specs:

Stem Type Regulating

Orifice .080 in

Room Temperature Pressure Rating 3000 PSIG @ 100F /206 BAR @ 37C

Will this be able to go down to the rate I need? Thanks everyone for all the help.

I am running three B-SS2-A Low Flow Valves. Yes, you can get even lower than 1 bubble per 5 seconds. It's the most precise valve I own. You will definitely want to get the compression to 1/8" MNPT adapters as well. They are proprietary to Swagelok valves.

One thing to look for is Cv which in the case of the b ss2 -a has a very low flow coefficient of 0.004. If you download the pdf file from Swagelok you can see the Cv for a given valve.

Hi guys,
Sorry to beat a dead horse, but I'm still confused. And I'm not the kind of guy who "gets" mechanical things (I'm a chemist, so I "get" the fertilizer side).

I have a brand new JBJ regulator/bubble counter/solenoid. The stock needle valve that came with is just crap (wish I had seen epicfish's review before I bought it). It'll jump from 2 bps to 10 bps in the time it takes me to shower.

Want to replace with a Swagelok. I think Left C mentioned the angle bracket works best with JBJ, and I don't know if BrianO is selling what I need (don't care about <1 bps). I like this one:

http://www.swagelok.com/search/find_...s_results.aspx

B-J2NA2
"Brass Screwed-Bonnet Angle-Pattern Needle Valve, 1/8 in. MNPT"

Is this what I need? Both the I/O fittings are 1/8 in, correct? So I don't need any adapters at all? I can just directly substitute the JBJ needle with the Swagelok?

Thanks.
