possible cheap CO2 reactor

I accidentally found this out.
I was using one of those 10$ internal filter from Walmart in my 20gal tank, when I realized that the filter sucks water (or CO2) from the bottom... so when I placed my airstone underneath it would suck the CO2 into the filter and churns it up really nicely into very fine CO2 bubbles

Wonder if anyone here using the same solution for a while, what's the side effect et al?

Beside the constant burping noise I've no complain
