hello all,
dropped by the lfs to buy some flourite and was intrigued by a type of "algae". neat looking dark green "balls" called cladophora. did a search of this forum and didn't find anything. so i thought i'd pass this info along to see if any of you had ever tried it. there's some info on the krib. i have never tried it, but may in the future. http://www.thekrib.com/Plants/Algae/cladophora.html#0 |

Algae Grower

I recently got one. Wish I had more because it seems out of place to no matter where I put it. It also seems to be like black velvet in a room with a cat, stuff sticks to so it getts a little dirty. Still thogh its something that not a lot of people have, so that makes it cool. I forke out seven bucks, what did they get you for?

i thought they were moss balls, i heard they absorb a lot of nutrients and show no signs of growth, no one i know knows how to propogate them either.
I have one, and I would like more info on them too. I also heard that this is the first year they have been offered in the US (through distributors) I don't know if this is true, but that's what i heard. ~Doug
